Confirmed Stats
Intelligence
Standard int state, Measure of one's ability to solve problems mentally. Has two substats, Cunning and Knowledge. Requires at least 2 points invested, one for each substat.
Cunning
Cunning is sort of one's instinctual intelligence. It represents the ability to figure out a short-term solution with no thought.
Knowledge
Knowledge is largely learned intelligence. It's largely used for more large scale things that take time to deduce or design.
Speed
How well a unit can move. Has two substats, Agility and Flexibility. Requires at least 2 points invested, one for each substat.
Agility
Agility is how fast a unit can go.
Flexibility
How well a character can maneuver.
The Drawing Board
The most obvious stats that need to be hit are a sort of offense and defense.
In the function of the storyverse, chakra, mana, charisma, and ectoplasm need to be represented.
Chakra is used to modify one's self. Strong characters tend to use it, so it will probably be functionally tied to offense/defense.
Mana is used to modify the environment. Mage-like characters tend to use it, so it will probably be functionally tied to magic offense/defense. Crazy, I know. Specifically, it will probably be tied to a separate offensive stat, so that races with high resistance to magic don't benefit from it.
Charisma is a poor choice of words (as the standard definition of charisma is probably encompassed in Cunning), and the use of mental powers. For the most part, it's defensive or subtle (Cunning may drain from it slightly/in some situations?), but Psychics have access to a range of offensive powers using it. However, I'm thinking offense and defense draw from the same pool here, to make Psychics not the most appealing thing in the world. Furthermore, there might be drawbacks to Chakra and/or Mana for Psychics, we'll see.
Ectoplasm is another poor choice of words, and is from the use of spirit powers. Using spirit powers is a very high level, and will probably be purely defensive if anything in most cases. As such, it will probably be tied to some sort of Will stat, as that's what it ultimately is.
So what I'm saying is something like:
- OFF
- DEF
- CHAK = OFF*2 + DEF*2
- M.OFF
- M.DEF
- MANA = M.OFF*4 + M.DEF*.5
- CHA works as offense (Psychics only) and defense mentally. Might be related to Cunning, might be drained by it.
- ECTO works as defense spiritually. If there is a stat that works as one's 'Will,' it will be linked.
For further reference:
Chakra and mana are part of one's physical definition. Everything related to their bodies is tied to these.
Charisma is mind. In this case, mind means emotions, knowledge, and memories.
Ectoplasm is spirit. In this case, it means will and strong bonds, and I think one other thing I forget writing at two in the morning.. Friendships can last lifetimes literally.
